Strong Racing Frames has been having a sale on their steel hardtail frames over at MTBr. After biting on the link and checking out their site I found this beauty!

Nice details for $799. Supposely the frame will fit up to 700x44c tires!

Disk option, lifetime warranty and who could not love the paramilitary look!

ooooohhhhh that is just too much... I gotta leave work now and ride my bike.. I checked out the website. The orange cross bike they have on their looks good... But the v brakes? wasn't there just a discussion about v vs. canti? I am building up my poprad frame right now and have been planning on using and older set of diacomp 987 canti's from my old fisher ht. they should work fine shouldn't they?

they'll be fine. the only problem with v's is mud clearing and finding levers that will work. plus you'll piss off the retro grouches. Sweet frame, like the matte finish

just a short comment,

I placed a pair of record carbon brake levers (non- ergo). They are light, sweet and well worth the extra $40 over the uncomfy dia compe 287V.
According to Campagnolo and minimal use, they work perfect with cantilevers. Only drawback is that they are not spring loaded, yet I can not feel any drawbacks. I am using SRP grumpy's on the front and shimano cantis in the rear.
pic will be posted soon.
