Ok so I am considering an Interloc frameset however, it has a ~38c limit on tire size. Will I really need a bigger tire (I plan on racing)? Suggestions on alternates would help.

I just got a Interloc to hang parts on this year. Right now I have 42s on it so no problem there. For racing you'll probably want to run 30s or 32s. It's a good first cross bike. Rides nice, very stable, nice welds, made overseas for Interloc. Sure reminds me of my old Breezer mountain bike, I bet they were made in the same factory. The only downside is under the bb cable routing (I can live with this) and it's a little heavy but not bad.

Dura Ace bb and derailleurs. Ultegra cranks and shifters. Ritchey Bio-Max cross bars and WCS road stem. King headset, Easton seatpost, WTB SST saddle, Time ATAC carbons. I'm going to try some Spooky cantis. I got the straight blade IRD fork. Dura Ace/Mavic tubulars and King/Mavic clinchers. Paint is a little thin. Also I was able to tap the headset in with a plastic hammer. Tolerances are not real tight.
