Looks like I'll be the first on my block to have a set of the new Spooky top-mount brake levers (OK, so nobody else on my block has a cyclocross bike, but still). I went on the Cyclocrossworld.com site to buy a set of the new IRD levers, and noticed that they'd just gotten in the Spookys at the same price as the IRD.

The kink with the Spooky levers is that they apparently have a hinged clamp, so go in place without removing the bar tape or levers. I called and asked, and they're the 26.0 clamp diameter, and have barrel adjusters.
Now if my friend in the little brown truck will hurry up just a bit, I'll actually get a look at them!

Cheers!

Let us know how they work. I just got a set of the brakes and I haven't had time to put them on.

I also notice that ExcelSports has the Redline Runkle levers ( http://www.excelsports.com/item.asp?major=1&minor=7&description=Runkle+Brake+Levers&vendorCode=REDLINE ) for $69. Not sure if they are hinged but they do appear to have barrel adj. No idea how good they are, maybe someone with a new Conquest Pro can fill us in?
