Rim width vs. Tire size(2 posts)

Rim width vs. Tire sizeJR007

I want to build a CX bike for all-round commuting, trail riding etc. I'm looking into frames, already have Ultegra STI from another bike. Also have a set of Campy Omega wheels, but I'm not sure if A: how they will stand up to abuse. B: If I can get anything bigger than a 25c tire on them. The rim width is 13mm.
Any suggestions?

I have a set of Campagnolo Atlanta rims which are 13c wide and I run 38c tyres at 75-80 psi without problems. I take em off road on a regular basis. I need to retension the spokes more often than I used to when they were just used for road but this is to be expected. Go for it...
