What shoe/pedal combo do you have on your cx?(12 posts)

What shoe/pedal combo do you have on your cx?snuz

I've had my bike for a few weeks. I've been using my diadora jalapenos and aluminum time atac pedals from my mountain bike.
Well I now need new pedals for one of my bikes, it cam be either for the cx or mtb. Are some of you riding with more of a road bike set-up, or are you sticking with mtb equipment for the dirt?

Definitely stick with ATACs for your cross bike, unless you ride on the road 99% of the time.

Soon to have some new Sidi Bullets to replace my very worn Specialized shoes.

I also have ATACs on my mountain bike and switching between the two bikes has been a breeze. I used to find that with SPD pedals sometimes the cleat would "wear" to match one set of pedals and would not quite clip in as easy on another pair of SPD pedals. With ATACs this has not been the case...

the northwaves fit quite well, and I have always found a good deal on previous year models. The atacs are the only pedal system I have tried. They work great.

M320's and 959. The shoes I could take or leave, but I love the 959's.

For most cross racing and riding I use the Northwave Artic winter shoe. It's got a nice high neoprene collar, little ventilation, and a lace closure with a flap covering the laces. Keeps the toes nice and warm.

I also have a pair of Shimano shoes I use in warmer weather. Forget the model number but they're the ones with the disco blue finish and the carbon sole. Fantastic shoes for road rides but a bit too stiff for actual cross racing, especially on the longer run-ups.

get another set of times and use mtb race shoes. makes it easy. road stuff won't work as you can't run in penguin feet
