Hi,

there are a few people on here who own custom steel frames from deeside Cycles.

Can one of you please email me with you experiences:

-who built it?
-how did you communicate with them, email only or phone too
-did you just send measurements
-did they send a drawing or frame measurements for your approval
-how was shipping, and packaging of frame
-was frame prepped headset/BB faced, threads chased, etc.
-overall experience
-How did you pay them, money transfer, credit card, etc.

thanks

Yes I have a custom Graham Weigh cyclocross, purchased through deeside cycles.

The brand is Graham Weigh, he ownes deeside cycles/ partners. Paul is the frame builder, if I can remember his name correctly.

I started communication via email, but when I came down to money my riding friend called up with card information.

Yes I sent them measurements and a color drawing of the color scheme (orange to black fade)

Shipping and packing was done very well, bubble around all tubes, the way it should.. only minor problem was that the cork tape had some damage, on my friend custom 853 reynolds road. Everything else was without flaw.

Yes the frames I have purchased were prepped, chased etc...
granted I ordered with a headset, I did encounted a problem installing the bottom bracket on my cyclocross, the seat tube joint extended a mm far so that some particular bottom brackets (cheap shimano UN52?) would not fit, the center portion had to shrink towards the center. Sorry it is hard to explain.
Overall experience- Excellent, my friend ordered a cinelli starship with full carbon record and cinelli ram bars, he is delighted. Also this week I will be sending Andrew (deeside friend and employie) some white tea, we keep in contact.

My friend phoned in a card number. No problems of any sort.

I am thinking of ordering a custom 26" cyclocross for my girlfriend in the near future.

If you have any other questions, if you like you can email me at Buffalosorrow@lycos.com
