Who double-tapes? Do you use non-adhesive or adhesive on top? What's your favourite tape?

I like generic cork [whatever's on special] in black. I've been considering double-taping, but it seems like a pain...

I have all three of my bikes double taped. I love the extra cushion and larger diameter for gripping, then again I always used OURY grips on my mountain bikes for the same reasons. When I get around to building a road bike this spring I plan to double tape it also. As for which tape to use I love Cinelli but hate the adhesive backing and it is a bit short for double taping. I use either the cheap generic brands or Profile, they stretch better and are not backed. Adhesive backed tapes usaully tear on me when I need to remove them.

Actually it comes in different densities, their "soft" tape is "used by many cyclocross riders to help cushion the ride".
I have not used it, but am going to get a hold of some once my stem arrives.

I double tape, on one bike, I have it doubled up with cork, black also...cause I know it's going to get dirty! On the other, I have it tripled tape with cloth tape. I love the cloth but am starting to miss the cork cushy vibe. Therefore, I believe I may try a little different. cork it, then put some cloth overtop.

I wrap over with cloth for durability. I also cloth the chainstay.
Good idea on the chainstaywspokes

I have no chainstay protector on my Surly and have been getting some "clank" lately, the cloth is a good Plan! I have the CS on my MTB wrapped with vinyl. Never even thought to do the same to the Surly. thanks for the reminder!
I use an old inner tube and zip ties... [nm]Velocipedio
