Cross fork question(4 posts)

Cross fork questionsn69

Hi all,

I've been tinkering with my old Stumpjumper, replacing old drivetrain components and putting skinny tires on it. I'm considering removing the long-neglected Manitou fork on it with a cross fork, perhaps a Surly 1X1.

Any thoughts on this and/or suggestions. I'm working on the beater/commuter/semi-xcross concept, meaning I want ugly and I want cheap. Also, am I correct in assuming that I'd be able to run the current V-brakes with a cross fork?

Thanks,
Scott

Your still using 26" tires right? so youll have to use a rigid fork spec'd for 26" wheels otherwise the brake bosses wont line up. if you want cheap try bike man.
feel foolish for not even thinking of that!sn69
