Rear brake cable hanger(7 posts)

Rear brake cable hangeryodester

Does anyone know where I can buy a rear brake cable hanger? My bike has V-brakes now and I would like to switch to canti's, but my frame doesn't have a cable hanger. I have checked all over the web to no avail. Lot's of choices for the front but none for the rear. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Rod

I've seen them in supplier catalogues. Definitely sounds like a special order from your local bike shop.

But why go to canti's? Sounds like a backward step. Just use Travel Agents on your V's (if your using non-V levers), way better.

Every time I change wheels I have to re-adjust the V-brakes because one of the pads rub. I'm hoping canti's will eliminate that prob.

Most local bike stores can order from QBP or other cycling distributors. If they don't have an old hanger lying around then they should be able to order you one.

Skip the local pro shop, and go to a shop that works on a lot of inexpensive and old bikes. Lots of old bikes required a rear brake cable stop that was integrated into the seat bolt. My local pro shop had nearly forgotten about this part, but a place called The Recyclery here in town knew exactly what I wanted and sold one for a buck.
