Can anyone tell me if there are any cyclocross races in the Chicago area? Where and when?

Rockford is by far the best, and closest. Four races, first is sometime around Halloween. Every other week for 8 weeks. Keep your eye on Peteslist.com or Truesport.com for details. The promoter is pretty low-tech but somebody will post his flyer on the web. His courses are long, about two mile laps, and very technical.

There is a Wisconsin cross series that has a few races around Mil. and Mad. The Illinois State Champs. is in Lake Villa in late November. Last year it was on the same day as Rockford #4 and had a very small field. Big Shark puts on a cross series outside of St. Louis (Clayton?) in Queeney Park. I did one last year. It was ok, but not nearly as fun a course as those in the Rockford series.
