Hi. I have a question regarding the adjustment of Pauls Top Mount Levers. Currently, on my cross bike, I am running XT V brakes, Dia Compe 287 V levers, and Pauls levers on the tops. While the braking is spot on at the hoods with the Dia Comps, it feels like mush on the tops with the Pauls levers. Is there a way to adjust the feel of the Paul levers without messing with the Dia Compes? I looked and didn't see a barrel adjuster at the Pauls. If not, what's the best way to do the brake adjustment with 2 sets of levers? Thanks. Eric

Do you have them set in the right pivot hole for V-Brakes? I know Paul's has two different positions for Cantis & V brakes, unlike the Empella bar toppers. Check out Paul's Component Engineering website at:

Click on the link for Brake Levers/Road and you'll see photos & info on which pivot to use for which type of brake.

Since it's an inline brake lever, anything you did with a barrel adjuster on the Paul's would affect the performance of the Dia Compe brakes -- it'd be just like twisting a barrel adjuster anywhere else in on the brake. Maybe that's why there isn't one on the Paul's levers to begin with.

Cheers!
