Moving to a larger sized frame...jrm

Me..im 41, 185 lbs, 32" inseam in shoes, and have a regular lenght upper torso. Im on a 52cm Surly and have put in a order for a 54cm planet X kaffenbarg. From my experience with the Surly i think i should have gotten a 54cm. The 52 cm TT is short and cramped and not new to everyone the thing is heavy.

The Planet X is a described as a winter training bike & recreational CX frame with tire clearance up to 36's w fenders, aluminum, and compact geometry, The compact geometry seems to fit me OK. The standover is the same, Im gaining about a 1/2" in TT and the angles are steeper. The thing im worried about is the 2cm gain in height. I rode a medium TCR and a 54cm Spec M2 Pro road bikes for some time and liked the fit. But based on this only reference im wondering if the frames going to be to big.

Any one have a ny points..

Thanks

John
