Tyres - gripping stuff.....(2 posts)

Tyres - gripping stuff.....muncher
May 13, 2002 8:25 AM
After ANOTHER 3 punctures in 40 miles on a soft trail at the weekend, the Mich Muds are going in the bin - positively the worst tyres I have ever had to suffer.

Anyone care to share their favourites? Anyone have any experience with the Hutch Pros?

Anyone out there with a Jake tried 40s - do they clear OK?

Thanks.

M.

It's funny... I like the Michelins.

HAving said that, with the terrain a little firmer and dryer, I invested in some Specialized Cross Baldies. I've only had two rides on them, but I like them a lot.

They're not an especially grippy tire, and they don't bite in turns like the Michelins, but they're fast -- 100 psi -- and, as far as I can tell so far, very efficient on hardpack.
