|9-speed Shimano Barcons--will they work with LX front?||YoGeorge|

|I'd like to convert a bike from its current 105 triple crank/derailleur to an LX crank and front derailleur. Is the travel on the derailleur compatible with the MTB front drivetrain? (rear is already an LX)
Also, is anyone making a decent 26/38/48 or something like that that doesn't cost an arm and a leg? (LX is really tempting right now because the cranks are like $60..)
Thanks in advance,

|in addition to allowing infinite adjustability of the front mech, they also work with any front derailleur--road, MTB, double, triple... Who needs indexing, anyway?
As for the crankset, there's no reason you couldn't put those size rings on your road triple. I was running 48/38/30 rings on an older 105 crank on a Redline I used to have (with barcons, I might add).

|My Bianchi Volpe came with 28/38/48 cranks. On their website's spec page they list them as "Bianchi Cyclone" ... I'm not positive but I believe they may be made by Sugino. Ask your LBS to look in the QBP catalog to see what they have.
