Anyone have this bike? I have been looking into Cross Bikes lately and it has come down to the Rocky Mountain Rail and the Independent Fabrications Planet Cross. Downside to the IF is that it it a Custom ride, so it's pricey. They Rocky is about $1000.00 less and more appealing to me. Anyone have either one of these bikes? Care to share some experiences?

The IF is a pretty special bike. I do not think you can go wrong with either of them. The Rail is very light and stiff. The IF is a great steel frame and will be a little softer in the ride. There is something nice about a custom ride but if a stock bike fits you well, the consider going with it. Fit is what matters the most.

If you are looking for Custom Steel, consider Ted Wojick in NH as well. I have seen some of his bikes and they are sweet.
IF custom, why not get a stock frame?climbo

they make cross frames in many sizes off the rack. If you can afford it go for one, they know cross bikes and make a fantastic frame. You have a choice here of alu v. steel which is a big factor. If you want this bike to do a lot of work, ride great, comfort and last a long time, get the IF. If the frame is more expensive on the IF, skimp on some parts until you can afford to upgrade them.

The Rocky only comes in 2 sizes on the website, that must be incorrect.??
