Would a 28 or 29T inner ring & 46 or 48T outer ring work with a regular 105 front derailler?

If it's a 105 triple maybe. Buy an LX or XT if you need to, 28/29 is pretty small for an inner ring might not have the throw for a 105. You could always use the middle ring (MTB) of a 32/34/36 and the big 48T ring. More typical of a cross rig and 105 should be OK

No, deraillers cant handle more than a 12 tooth differential among the rings.

The pictured crank is an item I am attempting to sell. Arms are Shimano RSX, rings are new, 48 is a Real, 36 is a RaceFace. 26T is included as well. I think this is more of what you would need, email me if interested.
