yes North County San Diego, mostly military property and a Nuclear Reactor. Couple good surf breaks, Campground, there are some open areas as well. Are you planning a trip out to San Diego?

Actually if things go well I'll be working at the nuke. I was wondering if it is possible to ride a bicycle to the plant. That will be one determining factor.

It's easy to reach if you're coming south from the Capistrano/San Clemente area; from the Oceanside area, though, you'd have to get through Camp Pendleton, and access can be limited, if the Marines are doing training exercises in the vicinity.

actually you can access through Pendelton on an old closed road, it's great NO TRAFFIC! You can also take the dirt/paved trails down to Trestles. (San Clemente) I haven't done any cross experiments in that zone. I'd stay on the road or close to it through Pendelton as you might get hassled by the USMC. Keep me posted if you come out, I'll hook you up with some rides in San Diego. It is car country (urban Sprawl) here in SoCal but I commute 40 miles round trip 2-3 times a week (weather/health workload permitting) (mostly road, some trail). You won't have that lovely track you posted but you will have about 360 days to ride. Give me a heads up if you are heading west.

I will. I'm hoping to live with in 15 miles of the plant if possible then I could ride my bike to work. I do that here and I think it's great.

you'll be able to commute from San Clemente (North) or Oceanside (South) of the plant
