After getting tired of many adjustments with poor results, I decided to discard my cantilever brakes on my cross. I replaced them with XT linear pull brakes with a "Travel Agent" Does anyone have any experience with this set up?

At Sea Otter Classic I saw the Kelly bikes booth had crossers with v-brakes and they worked quite well. How different do the brakes feel? I have radius brakes on my Poprad, dialed them in, and they work great.

I have Shimano XT linear pull brakes on front and Avid rim wranglers on the rear. These have very good stopping power for my 190# carcass.

What I need to know is where to get replacement shoes for the XT brakes. I feel it would be easier than replacing the pads only. Am I right?? Any ideas??

i use vbrakes with travel agents on my commuter bike and they work great-much better stopping power compared to the cantis.
