ok folks, here is the deal, I have some avids on my cross bike right now, but I am giving those to my finace for her cross ride. So now I need to buy myself a new brake set. Poor me.
I am between the srp mr. grumpy's and the paul set up. any feed back on those? any other ideas? Price is not really a limiter, since i am a bike mechanic.
cheers
jason

Aren't you REQUIRED to go with the Grumpys? ;)

I can offer no real advice on this topic since I've never used these brakes; but don't forget about the Empella Frogglegs and Spooky.

One note of caution. My roommate had an Ibis Hakkalugi and got some Mr. Grumpys. He was unable to to set up the pads low enough to hit the rim correctly. Not sure if this is a common problem with the Grumpys or if the posts were abnormaly low on his bike. Make sure you can return them if you get them.

get the Pauls if you want the Old School Mafac canti look. Get the Avids (Titanium) if you want a great brake not too expensive with good customer service. Get the Empella's if you want full on Euro cross geek style. They all work well. Both the Pauls and empella's have the new Mid Bar brake levers available as well since you get deals as a mechanic.
