Wound Up Cyclocross Fork problemsdcm311

I just got a Wound Up a few days ago and its been a great ride but there is one nagging problem, because of the lack of clearance it is very difficult remove and install the wheel. The back of the brake pad just hits the side of the fork so the brakes won' retract all the way. I running avid speeddial v-brakes with the travel agent and Specialized Tri-Cross 35 c tires. Are there any shorter brake pads or pads where the majority is in the front (still using stock avid pads)? Any other solutions?

You need to cut the pads. Check out this pic from Cyclocrossworld.com and see how Gullickson butchered his Ritchey pads.

Thanks! I just cut some Kool Stop pads up. I ahd to use a hack saw because there was a metal core.

I did my first real ride on the Wound Up today. I felt a lot tighter than my old fork.
