Project 2 Fork On a Cross Check?jrm

Bikeman has the project 2 straight blade fork for $59. But its rake and lenght is corrected to emulate a 80mm susp. fork.

Could i even consider using this fork on my crosscheck with non corrected geometry?
Isn't it an MTB fork? nmswede16

Yeah... a buddy of mine just ordered that fork, and it is a great bye... if you have 26" wheels. Probably with the suspension corrected length there would be ample clearence and what not for 700c's, but the brake bosses are too low to work. Kona does make a project two 700c fork, and that would definetely work with the Surly. In the meantime, I know that stocks reasonably priced 'cross forks, like the redline and kenesis, as does Best of luck.

While it would erase any savings you would achieve on the fork, I suppose you could use a set of Paul's "Moto BMX" cantilevers, which are designed to work with 700c wheels in 26" MTB frames. Pix at:

At that price, though, you're better off just getting a fork designed for 700c wheels to begin with...

You can use it if you get v's that have enough verticle adjustment - Tektronics, for example, will give you enough to get the pads on a 700c rim - but of course you will need travel agents or similar.

Tom will make you about any fork you want for $150.
Fork rake and length
straigh or curved
unicrown, fork crown
cantilevers, discs
and you choose the color.
So yes the fork is $90 more, but you can get the exact one you want and that makes it a bargain.

Since I am only want to be a client, do your own search, but the potential for a bargain is there.
