I just switched to the 48/36 combo and am very pleased. I have always run a 27 in the back, but had standard 53/39 in front.
The jump from the 36 to the 48 is very natural and keeps you in the mid range of the cassette.
I'm an average rider, but like the set up. Saw it in Burney's book as one of the recommendations and descided it was the best for me. So far so good.
Isnt 38T the smallest for 130mm standard crankset?jrm
