And if so, are the bikes good for 'cross?

Alas, they are no more, though I would imagine the name "VooDoo Cycles" was one of the assets they sold and will likely reappear sometime down the line.

I just picked up a used VooDoo Wazoo; I'm new to Cyclocross this season so any opinion I offer is a barely-informed one, but the frame construction is top-shelf. It's relatively light, intelligently laid-out, and very nicely executed. I've ridden it a lot on mixed on/off road stuff in the past two weeks since I built it up, and it's solid, fun and stable in a wide variety of conditions. I've got a nearly worn-out Vittoria Mastercross on the back, but the rear end seems to stay planted pretty well on gravel/dirt/grass hills. It feels very predictable and stable in fast and slow/tight turns.

They were common enough that finding a used one shouldn't be that difficult, if you want to go that route. They did to a fairly major re-design on the Wazoo for the 2000 model, mainly eliminating some of the slope to the top tube for more shoulder clearance (mine looks basically level) and ovalizing the top tube, so it's worth asking the model year on any used frames you're considering. Their web site is still up, with info on their last 'cross models at:

Cheers!
