|Sorry to throw another 'what to buy' post on here, but I didn't any mention of the Ibis Hakkalugi (great name!) and wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts.
Just for a little background, I'm an mtb'r looking to get into road/trail riding with my wife. Thought a cross bike would be great for both of us because of the versatility - road, fireroad, moderate singletrack. I can get the Ibis used, in my size and with good components (Ultegra, XT, Mavic rims) for $1000. Any thoughts on this vs. a new Cross Check or Poprad?
I probably want something that favors the road since I have my mtb, but I guess I can address that with the tires and other components, right? Thanks.

|Ive heard nothing but good things about the ibis. If their cross is as good as their MTB it should be a great bike. If the bike is in great shape a grand seems OK for price. You can pick up a poprad or Surly for less than that new, but the components are not as nice. If the fit is rite and the bike is in good shape I would go for it. Enjoy, crossbikes bring a whole new twist to biking:-)|
