|Need input on the gearing for my CX that I'm currently building.

Is this too low? Any input would help.

|Stick to a rear cluster that does not have cog larger than 27 teeth for racing. He writes this is due to a loss of traction if the rider spins too much on a climb. Also, he wites at the point you are pedaling 38/32 up a climb, you'd be faster running with the bike. As far as the use of the 11 tooth cog, you may use it, and then again you may not. When I build up my CX bike, I'm planning on going with a 12-26 or 27 cassette and a 38/46 chainring setup. |
|My setup is...||Zaphod|

|A triple in the front 30,42,52 whatever the standard Ultegra setup is.
11-27 in the rear.
I call on that low gear all the time in the San Francisco bay area's hills.
Have yet to race it but will likely give it a go this season.
