So, is there any diff, in geometry between raod and cross bike? And which one do you think i should get for riding across the city and usually hit some off-road local trail?

I don't know much about 'gemetry' difference, but there is 'geometry' differences between two similar sized/similar 'make' bikes. Cross bikes have slacker angles, longer wheel base, higher bb. Other, perhaps non-geometry things: greater clearance at bb/chain stay junction, canti brake bosses, usually top tube cable routing.

Please note that the higher BB comes mainly from the wider and higher tires.
Chain stays on a crosser are rather 435mm than 400-410 on a roadybike. Look at the differences in the table of brands like Duratec and Litespeed (both very elaborate).
