|Anyone here riding the Maryland Cup this fall?||BigJ|

|I'm really interested in racing a "season" of cyclocross this fall, and the one closest to me seems to be the Maryland Cup (http://www.wvoutside.com/Events/2000/10/2124.html). Did anyone on this message borad participate in this series last year? And of so, what did you think of it? Would it be an appropriate place for a beginner in relatively decent shape to start? I'm just trying to get more information about the event from those who experienced it first hand last year.
So far my training regimen consists of running 3.5 miles 3x per week, a 45-minute "spinning" class twice a week, and a long (3+ hour) medium-paced road ride every Saturday morning. I also like to get out and mountain bike once or twice a week. Do you think this is sufficient to build a base on which I can compete in the beginner's class? (I have recently lost quite a lot of weight, and am just now to the point where I feel like I can begin specializing my training - everything up to this point has been building a decent cardiovascular base).
Thanks in advance,

the md cup would be great for you, the entry fees are low, its a really laid back atmosphere, lots of fun. also the courses aren't 100% true cross, they have all the barriers and run-ups but also a little single track mixed in
basically its a fun, grassroots series.....
