Hey I saw this 96-97? steel framed Bianchi cyclocross bike for sale for 1.200 bucks. Its a made in italy frame with sti-600 componants and campy wheels. The bike has been slightly used, very clean. On the chainstay it reads "project cyclocross". I am new to cross bikes & would like input on price/bike!

I don't know about the price, but I have the very same bike. It's a wonderful frame if you like steel. It's very comfortable in all cyclocross conditions. The only decision you have to make is if you want a steel frame. If you do, you can't go wrong with this frame. Good luck!

This is ehat I ride as well. Frame and fork were between 500 and 700, new, from what I recall. It's essentially the same as the Reparto Corse Cross frame they're selling now for about $800. I'd say the price is high, but it is a nice frame that takes lots of punishment.

I work at a Bianchi dealership and Bianchi makes fantastic bikes. However we had several of these frames show up from Bianchi with problems. Usually nothing major - things like cantilever posts not being even or braze-ons being crooked. Considering you can get a Gunnar from Waterford for the same amount the Bianchi wouldn't be my first choice. Check the frame carefully before you buy it, especially the rear dropouts.
