Does anyone currently use an Alan frame? I have found very little information about them. I found one attempt at a website, but not much information or reviews. I'd love to know how this bike rides. Any input would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hi Chris, I have had two Alan Road bikes and found them to be well made bikes. I now have a green Alan mtb frame that I am trying to decide whether to sell it or built it. I am moving to London in 5 months and already have a road and mtb. Alan is a great bike. I had the smae faith with the website

Chris,

You'll see several pictures of my Alan Cross bike above. It's the silver bike: you can ignore the Nishiki fixie with the Huffy stickers on it.

It is very light, in fact, lighter than my fixie even with all the extra components and knobby tires. It is also very flexible, so flexible you have to concentrate to ride a straight line on pavement. I have been using it on road rides and on not too technical singletrack and dirt roads, and have been enjoying it very much. The fork is shockingly flexible if you are accustomed to a normal fork, and I am considering replacing mine, but I might miss the suspension-like feel, who knows.

I approve of the bike and would buy another one. I got mine complete for $270 on ebay, and I think that was a great deal considering what I got with it.
