Fat knobbies online?Stampertje

Hi,

Does anybody know where I can get some fat 700c knobbies (online)? No, I haven't checked all the local shops yet, but somehow I doubt they will have a good assortment of 'cross tyres... 700x37 "city" tyres are the best that I've found so far. I'm looking for something like 700x40 or possibly even 700x45 (but I should measure my seatstay clearance first for that one).

Hey Stampertje,

Don't know if it's usefull but IRC make some crosstires 700x38 wide, there called crosscountry and v-cross. The also make a 700c version of their Mythos Slick tire, don't know how wide though.
You could also checkout WTB they make some tire called Allterainnasaures don't know how wide it is or how knobby, website isn't very clear on this.
I personally use Geax Blades, their something like 38 wide, works great in mud.
Where are you from? Judging on your screenname I think Dutch or Belgium.

Hope it's usefull,

Good call - I'm Dutch.

I actually managed to find a pair of 700x41 IRC V-Claws at the same place I bought my bike two years ago. They had ordered them for another customer who never picked them up. Now I only need some time to ride...

Hey Stampertje,

I'm Dutch too, dat zijn dan twee nederlanders op dit messageboard. Maar ik verder in het engels want dat is de voertaal hiero. First of all the Geax tires are 29 not 38 like I mentioned before, second where you from I'm from Zoetermeer.
Third why do you need such wide tires?

I wanted the fat tyres for my hybrid, which I ride around the Chicago area. I have to divide my time between The Netherlands (Nijmegen) and Chicago, so I don't want to buy another bike right now. I use my hybrid both as a road bike and as a mountain bike, hence the fat tyres.

In the Netherlands, my only ride at the moment is a singlespeed-converted Koga Miyata road bike (fixed/free flip-flop hub). I've only done one ride so far, fixed, on the road. I got a pair of 27mm Vittoria CrossMax tyres to ride the freewheel gear off road, but everything was closed because of foot & mouth...
