| What compound comes stock on Campy Record Brakesets? | Shylock Jan 27, 2004 4:07 PM | | I was just re-reading the owner's manula for my Rolf Elan wheelset and started to take stock of the admonition that I use only soft compound pads with these wheels. Are the stock pads on my 2001 Campy Record brakes soft compound or something else?
thanks

| They are soft... | DINOSAUR Jan 27, 2004 4:31 PM | | Kool Stop, Corima, among others, make pads for composite rims...the Campy pads are soft rubber.... |
| Thanks. But I'm curious as to why you mention... | Shylock Jan 27, 2004 4:52 PM | | ....the other makers. It kinda confused me.
Otherwise, I'm relieved that I've been using the appropriate pads:)

| I had a pair of American Classic 350s once | collinsc Jan 28, 2004 8:00 AM | | One of the earliest sets. My Shimano pads at the time chewed them up really bad. My experience with Campy pads is limited though, after switching to Koolstop on my Shimano bike, the Campy pads were only in use for about a week. I didnt find the Campy pads any better than Shimano ones.
Koolstop is the only way to go, imo. |
