|Ok - the front DA lever has a trim function, so when you are on the large ring, and the chain is rubbing, you can hit the small lever for a single click, and the derailleur will shift inwards a little bit to stop the rubbing (I think the Ultegra allows trimming, too)
Anyway - onto the question - how much is the front deraileur supposed to move when you trim it? half way? just a mm or two?

|With the chain in the large chain ring and largest cog, shift to the "trim" position and adjust the derailleur cable tension so that the chain clears the derailleur cage by about 1 mm.|| |
