I was looking at some early '90's Campy monoplanar brakes...how can you tell which ones are Athena or Chorus? The etched logo is in black and on the backside of the brake in a recessed area it has "3".

It looks like a cast piece with a matte/semi polished finish.

Thanks for any insight.

If it's early 90's it's probably Chorus, I bought a set about '93 & chorus was the only model that was built this way. Years later when models were updated, campy just made these Athena's.

Thanks for the info Jim.

These went on my Vitus 979 which I stored after one partial season and about 900 miles of use. It will be fun to bring it back out. ;)
