|I had my first really close-up look at three different bikes with the new Dura Ace 10 speed group on them, and I really have to say that the STI levers and the brake calipers look like crap. With the addition of all the plastic on the STI levers and the calipers, they look like Sora components from 6 feet away. Yes, they work better than the old 9 speed Dura Ace, but they still look like crap. The STI levers have a very positive click, up or down, and the calipers seem very stiff.
From the looks of it, I'll be keeping the components on my two 9 speed Dura Ace bikes, and my old faithfull 8 speed Chorus bike.
Ps. The front and rear changers look fine, and I could even learn to like the look of the new crankset.

|To me, the price is the deal buster. I just can't justify the price increase over 9 speed. In fact, I've been gathering up 9 speed DA parts lately for a new bike project. Prices have sunk a little on 9 speed parts lately making the cost difference even greater than at first thought.
To me the real improvement in the new group is the crank/bottom bracket setup. Large spindle BB using proper spline attachment - not the sudo spline Octalink design. Hopefully, someone will come out with a quality aftermarket version that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.
As usual, my $0.02. Your milage may vary.
