Difference between STI and Ergo gear cable outer?Hereford Flyer

Just wondering what the differences are between Shimano STI and Campag Ergopower gear cable sets? The inner wires can't be any different - so what about the outers.
Just wanted to know because I feel like a change from the DA grey outers to black and Campag maybe a good quality alternative?
one says "Campagnolo" on it? same specs, I think nmDougSloan

Campy shift housing outer diamter is about 4.45mm and Shimano 4mm. Inner cables are 1.27mm and 1.2 respectively. I've never tried to mix and match. Why bother? You can get SIS housing from Shimano by the meter.
