Aliante v Arione saddlesthe riddler

Has anyone compared the new Fizik Arione against the Aliante? Just wondering how the different shapes compare and whether the Arione is as comfortable as the Aliante seems to be. Thanks

I've been riding Aliante saddles in three configurations for the last 13k miles. The first is carbon railed and no bumpers, the second has carbon rails w/ bumpers and the last one has the ti rails. I ordered an Arione for the new ride and rode it around for awhile, but the Aliante is back on it now..

The Aliante has a pretty deep dish to it, and as I prefer to sit back on the wide part of the saddle, keeping the back end horizontal means the nose points towards the top of the climb. The Arione is pretty flat. The nose to tail taper isn't much different but for the last few centimeters. I would suggest that if you're the sort who likes to shift around on the saddle a lot, front to back for power, long hauls, climbing, etc., then this saddle might work for you. My backside doesn't really need that much real estate, so I've found the Aliante more comfortable. FWIW, the carbon rail Aliante seems to give just a little more than the ti version..

Please excuse the seasonal decorations hanging from the saddle, they've been packed up along with the Xmas lights....

Nice ride! I have only used the Aliante and have an Arione on order. Love the Aliante but will try the Arione for longer touring duty.
