1" steerer spacers to convert to 1 1/8" for headsetbiomer

Hi all,

I have a 1 1/8 headtube and headset. Im interested in getting 1" all carbon steerer/fork. Does anyone know if there is a way to add spacers so that its possible to use 1" steerers for 1 1/8" headset?

thanks a bunch

Safe riding

I'm pretty sure there isn't a way to do that, safely at least. I know you said you already have the headset but look into the Chris King Devolution headset which will press into a 1 1/8" HT but have the inside dia. on a 1" steerer. If it is an internal headset, I think you might be SOL.

If you have a non integrated headtube, there are reducer bushings that allow you to use a 1" HS. Check www.branfordbike.com

... QBP makes spacers that allow running a 1" threaded or threadless headset in a frame designed for a regular 1 1/8" headset...

Also note that Chris King 1 1/8" headsets can be converted to 1" using the deVolution adapter.

I've used both methods on two different bikes with no problems.

Be the bike.

You say you're interested in going with an all carbon unit with a 1" steerer, yet the consensus is that for all carbon forks you should really go with 1 & 1/8. Too many reports of problems (flex and breakage) with the smaller diameter units.
