Where to buy new Record Group?Marketing Dept

I am looking for a new Record group. Any suggestions on the place with the best price? Would I be just as happy with Chorus or is the record worth the extra $400.00?

Best price I found was TotalCycling.com. Delievery was about 3 days from phone call to parts in my hands. Good people, good prices and good customer service.

The 2004 Chorus is very nice. Very similar to the 2003 Record. Differences are the 'logo' and a little bit of weight. Same quality and functionality as last years record, but without the titanium bits. The weight difference between the 2004 Record and Chorus is about 150 grams.

If you are a prgamatic sort, the 2004 Chorus is the way to go. But if you want to have that 'Record' logo on your bike, then you are going to have to spend that extra bit of money.

What you get for your money is:
1) Weight savings of about 150g.
2) New Desgin Ergo shifters, with easier shifting.
3) Front derailleur with a partial carbon cage.
4) Rear derailleur with more carbon bits.
5) Choice of silver or black brakes.

6) Bragging rights.....

Also, Record uses different chainrings than Chorus for 04, otherwise the cranks are the same. 04 Chorus is much the same as 03 Record, but says Chorus on it. Save the 400 bucks, you won't notice where it went on your bike, but you will notice it's not in your wallet.

the 04 Chorus front derailleur has been changed to have a new cage that has a different alloy and finish that reportedly makes for a stiffer cage, quicker shifting, and less abrasion from the chain. The upper arm is now black .

I like Total as well but I found critUSA have the best price so far(free shipping) and also if you are going with Record you ought to get the Carbon crank as well for that ultimate lightest group set and the "bragging right" which is something like extra 350. Otherwise I would just get the 03 Chorus if you can find them. Also 04 Record and Chorus carbon crank is not same as 03 record; CF is layed up differently thus they are stronger and look different.

I'm not sure, but double-check the warranty on Campy stuff as buying from certain sellers may/may not fulfill warranty requirements...if you care...
