|I am looking at a bike with an XTR drivetrain. I would like to go with something like Dura Ace for higher gearing. Is it as simple as swapping bottom brackets and cranksets?

|If you are working with a bike that has a 46 tooth big chainring now, you'll probably have to use a road front derailleur to match the bigger chainring.
Most all road front derailleurs are bottom pull. If your bike has a top pull derailleur now, that's a serious cable routing problem to work around.
What kind of shifters do you have? Shimano says not to mix road and mountain components, but mountain shifters and road front derailleurs seem to work OK together.
