Can smaller chainrings be put on Ultegra or Dura Ace Cranks? Doubles & triples? I would like something smaller than a 53 or 52. I don't think that Shimano offers a smaller size in the Dura Ace or Ultegra but I think that they offer smaller sizes in the 105 which should bolt up to the Ultegra & Dura Ace cranks. I know that it is a lower grade group but, if I just go with the 105 chainring and Ultegra or Dura Ace components elsewhere I think that it would work out fine.
I am using a 50T FSA on a 105 crank. [nm]FL_Rider

Just find a company that makes chainrings in a 130 bolt cirlce. Salsa is one of them. Friends of mine have used as low as a 45t ring on a DA crank.

PeterWhitecycles.com He sells Specialized TA rings, for both double and triple shimano. I swapped out my 42T middle Ultegra ring on my triple and put the 39T TA ring on, works great. They are a bit more pricey, but they are high quality rings.

Your LBS can order different size rings from QBP.
The smallest you can fit on a 130 BC is a 38 tooth.
