I'm looking for a new pair of road shoes and wondering if anyone has Northwave Genetix, any likes/dislikes? There is no lbs close by that sells quality shoes and I have to go mail order.

I used SIDI Energy shoes for two years. I switched due to a constant hot spot on the side of my foot(I know...why did I wait 2 years) I got the evolutions, and I love them. A lot roomier than the SIDI's. Wider and bigger. I would definately find a dealer to try their sizing. I went from a 44.5 in SIDI to a 43 with room in Northwaves. I also have to warn you about another thing. The sole is molded with a much more ankle high position than the SIDI's. The Sidi shoes were almost flat, and the Northwave had a very high ankle. It is actually nicer when you get used to it.

Thanks for the info. When you say "ankle high" position do you mean the curve of the arch>?

No, I mean the mold for the sole puts your foot in a postition like you are almost standing on your toes. Your ankle is very high. Whereas the Sidi shoes are molded with a very flat sole.

Sierratradingpost.com has a couple of great deals on some Northwave models, although not the Genetixs. I've been happy with my Huskys but can't speak about the other models.

for Northwave deals.

Sorry...

the ad doesn't indicate what if any pedal adaptors come with the shoes... I'd verify before pulling the trigger.
