Anyone using this configuration? Does it work. Ultimately, I'd like to use it with Ultegra and upgrade to Campy in about a year.

I switched from a Campy Record 2003 crank and bottom bracket in late June to the FSA Carbon Pro Team and the ISIS Ultimate ti bottom bracket, I still have'nt any regrets. They work fine and fill the cabon lust need well.

is using the Shimano B.B. much, much stronger & more reliable than FSA. Are you going with a triple or double?

There is absolutely no information that would support your contention that an octalink BB is stronger or more reliable than an ISIS BB. The octalink is also more likely to be discontinued as Shimano switches to the new crank and BB used on the XTR and DA 10 speed.

On the mountain side of things, there has been a long list of people who have had issues with light weight ISIS BB's especially with sealing and short bearing life. A quick search of our sister site (especially the weight forum) will bring out the horror stories.

This was enough of an issue to steer me towards the Ultegra BB for my cross bike over the ISIS. On a road bike it might be less of an issue. Still the Ultregra BB is a nice unit- and this is coming from a Campy man (even the rest of my cross bike!)

Both the Isis and Octalink version FSA cranks work equally well with Campy 10 speed drivetrains. Lots of guys actually run the octalink BB versions with Campy 10 speed with no issues.

However, you may want to get a Wheels Manufacturing conversion cassette, not because you need it, just for the fun of it, because according to the ultimate smoke blower Russ19 it shifts better than Campy cassettes because it's made from a remanufactured Shimano cassette which has better ramps than the Campy cassettes. Still LMAO over that outright garbage he posted on the Wheel Manufacturing Conversion Cassette thread below.

I really wonder if this guy actually believes all the garbage he posts, who knows maybe he does?

You gotta wonder though how much these bored, I mean board regulars get paid for each post they make in here, day after day, week after week, moth after monthg, year after year. Maybe a nickle a post, is the best living they can make? LOL

Yeah, I've got nothing better to do with my life than to read your moronic rantings about how you represent the superior intellect of the universe. Keep it up. I get a yuk when I read the garbage you spout.

Two things,
1.) Get a spell check. If you're going to rant like a light weight, at least learn to spell.
2.) Send me my nickel.

There are those who are intelligent. And there are those whose intelligence limits them to spell checking peoples posts. Apparently you have found your calling as a checker. Probably a trait inherited from your opaque mom and dad. LOL

I really do need to get one of those Wheels Manufacturing cassettes. You know which ones I'm talking about. The ones which will make my Campy 10 shifting smoother because of the better Shamino ramps on the cogs. LOL
