Shimano brake levers (non sti) with cantis(7 posts)

Shimano brake levers (non sti) with cantisSpecialTater

I'm thinking of putting road bars on my SS mtb. Nashbar (and others, prob ebay) has the Shimano brake lever (non-sti) for around $40. Will these work with cantis? The blurb on Nashbar says they are "compatible with Dura Ace, Ultegra, 105, RX100 and RSX calipers."

Any help is appreciated.

They work with cantis, but wrong pull ratio for v brakes. even sti works with canits.
They work just fine with my Pauls cantis (nm)Dale Brigham

got sti with avid 4 cantis on the poop-green monster. sti/non-sti should not make a difference. work fine, just don't expect cantis to walk on water.

fwiw i still think that abomination would look "interesting" with mtb levers on drop bar tops. :)

Is there any problem using linear pull levers with cantilever brakes? I have a project that requires mountain style levers and the linear pull levers are easier to find these days.

Thanks,
Bryan

If you get genuine Shimano levers, they can be adjusted to be more canty friendly.
