Standard or oversize bars?harcourt

I am considering Easton EC-90 bars. 26.0 or 31.7? Weight is the same. I weigh 160, is the oversize bar that much stiffer? Thank you for any help.

Look back a few days.. this subject was just covered, and very recently too.

Yes, the right oversized bars are stiffer. But some of the superlight bars are not. Same holds for stems. If you get the superlight stems, they aren't that stiff.

But I personally use the combo of a Deda Newton stem with the Deda Magic bar. It's a stiff combo and one of the most popular combos in the pro peloton. I have riden the EC-90 in the 26 diameter and found it plenty stiff, but I haven't riden the OS bar to see if it's any stiffer. Just make sure that if you go this route and have to get a new stem, make sure you get a stiff stem too. It is half the equation.
