|If you are working on a Campy freehub(not Freewheel) that uses a cassette, the hub bearings on the drive side are 7/32 and the non-drive side bearings are 1/4. Therefore you must keep them the same. Older freewheel hubs used 1/4 inch balls on both sides, generally. I never reuse the balls as they may be worn out of round, Others here insist that they are fine, you choose.|

Depends. The ball/races do wear in minutely different for each set, but if unusual wear is not present, then it's insignicant at bike wheel rpms. Cone adjustment is there for that reason, and the ball/races will also conform over time to the different set as well.
Note also that replacement costs are low.
