A 50-38T 105 crankset with a 11-30 cassette or a 48-34 compact crankset with a 12-27 cassette. is there any advantage of one of these over the other?
Why not 50/34 and the 12/27...Spunout

The 12/27 will give you gears that are a bit closer together, so you'll be able to fine tune your cadence better. 12/27 will allow you to use road read derailleur. I assume Shimano.
Why not 50/34 and the 12/27...with STI?jrm
