Picked some up at a local swap meet, do you need to use the supplied rimstrips? Are they overly fragile(49 grams)? Are they worth the dollar I paid for them?

I found them to be down right dangerous! They are too thin for butyl rubber. Any scuff mark during installation makes the to fragile. Try a pair of AIR-B 49gm latex tubes (ebay auction 3636408514... and no, its not my auction). I've had great luck after 2000 miles.
