Chorus/FSA BB question(3 posts)

Chorus/FSA BB questionpower1369

I presently have a FSA Platinum Pro bottom bracket and a FSA Carbon Pro Team Issue crankset on my Campy Chorus equipped bike. My question is that I want to be able to install a regular Chorus crankset on the bike for bad weather/winter riding to save wear and tear on the Carbon crank. Will a 10sp Chorus crank work with the above mentionned FSA Platinum Pro BB?

Thanks

No, I'm running the same bottom Bracket and cranks, the bottom bracket is ISIS, the Campy Chorus uses a square tapered bottom bracket. You will need a Campy Chorus or Record 102mm bottom bracket to use the Chorus cranks.

Apparently you're not familiar with the various BB spindles on the market.

The FSA crank is made in a shimano octalink (8 spline) or ISIS (10 spline) version. The crank should say ISIS near the BB spindle bolt, if it's a Campy 10 speed version of the crank.

Campy use a traditional (ISO standard) square taper BB with a 102mm spindle length. You need a Chorus BB to go with the crank.

Personally, I don't see the point of swapping cranks and leaving all the other good parts on the bike.

If you want a bike for bad weather, better to use an old one with cheap shimano parts.
