Magnet on Ksyrium elitesKaboom

Just today i blew the cash i've been saving up for the past 4 birthdays in a pair of elites (SWEEEEEET!!!!) now the trouble is with the magnets of the cyclocomputer. I had a standard spoke magnet. Any ideas on how to use/adapt this on on the flat spokes? or how to use any other magnet rather than the overpiced mavic proprietary one? i dont quite feel like spending anymore on sth like a magnet...

Your standard magnet will fit on the first inch or so on the spoke where the blade tapers out. You will have to move your sensor up a bit on the fork and things should be fine. That's how I have been using mine for ages.

that's pretty ugly though, anything a bit more aesthetically pleasing?

Cateye makes a magnet specifically for aero/bladed spokes.

Depending on the type of magnet you have now, it may be possible to modify it to work. Most have a thin slot to slide over a round spoke. Magnets that accomodate bladed spokes also have a larger hole drilled at the bottom of the slot that allows the magnet to be rotated 90 degrees. It's pretty simple to drill this hole yourself (parallel to the slot).

As others mentioned, Cateye magnets will accomodate bladed spokes.
here what I did for vector comps and kysriumsmaximum15

Mount the standard magnet in my vise and re-drill the hole with an 1/8 inch drill bit. De-burr and good to go.

Mavic makes a magnet that is designed for their Ksyrium spokes. Any LBS that sells the wheelset should be able to get you the magnet for them. At the cost of the wheels, the magnet should be part of the set!

I bought a set of Ksyriums a while back and I was also having trouble finding a magnet that would fit on the wide spokes. Go to your Radio Shack and buy a set of Earth Magnets. If you want something that is inconspicious these are it. These powerful magnets are about an 1/8" across. Superglue it to the spoke. Yeh I know, but I haven't bumped any off yet. Total cost about $2.00.
