|I bought a used wheelset that didn't have skewers.
The shop had some used ones, so I just bought them.
I've set everything up and it's working well but the rear skewer has the bolt sticking out a little longer.
Can you cut it or buy a shorter bolt? It's a salsa. THanks.

|You most likely have a mountain bike skewer. Mountain axles are 135mm, road (modern 8 to 10 speed) is 130mm. You can cut down the excess or just leave it, it won't hurt anything unless you brush your leg against it while moving it around.

|If the nut does not bottom out on the threads, then the skewer is not too long. IOW, it works. Having the skewer sticking out a little from the nut is not a (serious) problem.|| |
